Your foods will last much longer if they are vacuum sealed. We use one of the FoodSaver Vacuum Sealers. It’s very easy to use and your can get an attachment to vacuum seal foods in a mason jar. This is perfect because when you use plastic rodents and moths can easily chew through it.
We had a horrible experience with pantry moths last years! The only foods safe were those in glass mason jars. They had no problem getting inside Tupperware and it was a piece of cake for them to enter boxes or plastic bags.
Now our kitchen cabinets are filled with only glass jars of various sizes. Some foods we buy in bulk, so vacuum sealing them will keep them fresh for years. Here’s a video on how to vacuum seal jars of almonds.
