What Causes Kidney Stones and How To Dissolve Them

If you've ever had kidney stones, you'll know how painful they can be. One of my friends suffered from kidney stones. He told me it was the worst pain he's ever felt! He's the inspiration for this post; trying to find something that could help!

Kidney stones are caused by mineral deposits, usually calcium, which forms into Kidney stones are mineral deposits – usually some form of calcium, such as calcium oxalate – deposited in the kidneys, which form small sand-like stones inside the kidneys.

They can also be caused by struvite stones which occur in response to infections like urinary tract infections. Then there are uric acid stones, cystine stones, and more. Not drinking enough water is one of the causes of kidney stones.

"The stone may remain in the kidney for weeks, months or even years without causing any symptoms. However, if it moves, it may cause immense pain in the back and hips.

In such a situation, it is advisable to drink a considerable amount of liquid to allow the stone to be kicked out by urinating and take some analgesics to relieve the pain. But if the stone is too large, it may require surgery for its removal.

Parsley is actually in the carrot family and looks like a carrot in shape but not color. Parsley greens are full of nutrients, but you rarely see them sold with the root intact. It may not be as easy to purchase as the other ingredients.

Lemon becomes alkaline in your body which is a great way to counteract an acidic body. They also contain vitamin C and flavonoids. The citric acid in lemons is what can help to dissolve kidney stones.

Apple cider vinegar is also very high in acetic acid and can help dissolve kidney stones. The best is the raw, naturally fermented apple cider vinegar with living enzymes. One of the best is Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar.

These options are worth trying. Turmeric is one of my all-time favorite spices. Did you know that there is practically no dementia or Alzheimer's disease in India? Turmeric is one of the main reasons for this.

Turmeric is a bit bitter, but added in small amounts to soups, hot cereal and even hot drinks will help bring down inflammation. It has excellent anti-inflammatory properties.

You can buy it as a powder and often find the actual root. The health benefits of turmeric are spreading, and more stores carry the whole root, even Costco.

Here are more recipes I found.

1. Vegetable Juice

Just mix beet, carrot, and cucumber juice. Then drink it twice daily for two weeks.

2. Lemon Juice

Drink lemon water daily before eating or drinking anything. Just squeeze 4 lemons then add with water. This continuous drinking routine will help to get rid of gallstones. Added to that, drink lots of water daily.

3. Turmeric

Pour 1 tsp of turmeric mix with honey. Then drink it daily until the gallstones dissolve or are flushed out.

4. Beetroot, Cucumber, and Carrot Juice

Water makes up between 50-75% of our bodies. We can live for weeks without food, but only for three days without water. If you don't get enough water, you are at a much higher risk of developing kidney stones. You are also at a higher risk of urinary tract infections and constipation.

Fruits and vegetables, naturally high in water, can help add hydration. Plus, they are filled with thousands of phytonutrients.

Have you heard of Phytonutrients? Julius Axelrod first discovered phytonutrients in the 1950s. Scientist were excited to discover the13 vitamins and immediately began making vitamin pills. Now we've learned that there are over 50,000 phytonutrients found only in fruits and vegetables.

Here's a site that speaks of needing water.

In a guideline published Monday in the Annals of Internal Medicine, the American College of Physicians recommends increasing fluid intake and spreading throughout the day.
It may take eight to 10 glasses of water over the course of a day to comply. The recommendation calls for achieving at least 2 liters of urine a day.
It might also help to cut back on colas. A study cited by the American College of Physicians found that kidney stone patients who agreed to change their beverage habits and abstain from soda — specifically colas acidified with phosphoric acid — cut their risk of a recurrence by about 15 percent.
